Katherine-Mary Pichulik, born in 1987 in Johannesburg, is the founder of and designer at PICHULIK, an international jewellery label based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Katherine Mary was inspired through her travels, after seeing the intimate relationships around the world between women and their jewellery. PICHULIK are handmade pieces inspired by old traditional African, middle eastern and Indian designs. They are bold statement pieces to match the bold brave women who wear them. Each piece is uniquely feminine yet strong.

PICHULIK is committed to crafting and innovating high-end, quality bracelets, neckpieces, earrings and handbags.

Her designs are fashioned from rope and found materials from across Africa and are inspired by the women on the continent, local craftspeople and the alchemy of reimagined materials.

In 2016, Vogue Italia listed PICHULIK as one of 10 jewellery designers in the world to watch

PICHULIK was a finalist in the 2015 Vogue Italia Scouting for Africa competition and was listed by Huffington Post as one of seven South African fashion brands “that will make you swoon.”

In 2014, PICHULIK was named the Accessory Designer of the Year by African Fashion International and Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year by the Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa.

After three years in business, PICHULIK is sold in 14 countries and is found in premium retailers such as London’s Selfridges, and has grown from a team of two to a team of 18.
